Demo | – | – | – | – |
The Abyss | 1801 ft | 302 ft | 275 ft | 17% |

Do I need to make a reservation?
A) We strongly recommend that you make a reservation for the ZipTour as there are a limited number of persons on each tour which can sell out on any given day. You can reserve by phone at 250-338-1386, online or in person at our ZipTour Centre. While our reservation line voicemail is always available and calls are returned promptly during operational hours, leaving a message does not ensure a reservation. The full amount of the reservation must be paid in full at the time of booking.
What do I have to carry on the ZipTour and for how long?
A) The ZipTour Trolley is the primary piece of equipment you will be carrying and/or suspended from throughout the duration of the tour. The ZipTour Trolley weighs approximately 18 lbs and, when not in use suspending you from the ZipTour cable, will be carried by you in a backpack. The ZipTour takes approximately 3 hours to complete and you will be carrying/wearing the backpack for the majority of the tour.
Is there any paperwork to fill out?
A) ALL participants must complete a waiver prior to beginning the ZipTour. Minors are required to have informed consent from a parent or guardian prior to participating in the tour. Refusal to sign the ZipTour and/or consent for a minor to participate will result in your forfeit of the spot on the tour and no refund will be issued.
Are there any storage or changing facilities?
A) Some lockers are available on the Marmots floor, these lockers are first-come first served. If possible, guests are encouraged to leave personal belongings in their vehicle or place small, personal items in their trolley backpack which is issued by the ZipTour Guides.
Washrooms are available in the ZipTour Centre and it is highly recommended you visit them before leaving on your tour. Mt. Washington Alpine Resort is not responsible for personal items left unattended.
What happens in bad weather?
–A) Mt. Washington Alpine Resort will not operate in weather conditions which indicate lightning may be in close proximity or in sustained winds in excess of 48.3 km/hr. Our staff will do their best to contact you if we have advanced notice of inclement weather and need to reschedule. If the weather is marginal, please call us for a status update. Do not assume we have cancelled the tour if you have bad weather where you are as we may have sunny skies up in the alpine!
Mt. Washington Alpine Resort’s Eagles Flight Zip Tour will not operate under the following weather conditions:
- Lightning in the vicinity
- Sustained winds exceeding 48 km/hr
- Low visibility
- Heavy rainfall
Due to the unpredictable nature of alpine weather, conditions can change rapidly. While our staff will do their best to contact you in advance if poor weather is forecasted and a cancellation is necessary, there may be instances where we cannot reach you before your arrival.
In the event that weather conditions at the top of the mountain prevent safe operation, we may offer a modified tour of the lower, more sheltered spans—these are typically below the cloud level and remain operational in less favourable conditions.
Should this occur, you will have the following options:
- Reschedule your tour for another available date
- Participate in the modified tour at a reduced rate
- Receive a Quality Guarantee voucher valid for the remainder of the current season
Please note: Quality Guarantee vouchers are fully transferable. If you’re unable to return this season, you are welcome to give your voucher to someone else to enjoy the Zip Tour experience.
Thank you for your understanding and support in helping us maintain a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests.
What is your cancellation policy?
A) The policy reads:
- Cancellation 48 hours or more prior to the ZipTour = Full refund or reschedule
- Cancellation 24 to 47 hours prior to the ZipTour = Option to reschedule the tour to a different date. No refund offered.
- Less than 24 hours’ notice OR no prior notification for cancellation = Loss of payment AND the ability to reschedule.
You can cancel your ZipTour by calling Central Reservations at 250-338-1386 or emailing the ZipTour Centre at [email protected]
Can I participate if I’m pregnant or have a pre-existing medical condition?
A) The ZipTour staff at Mt. Washington Alpine Resort are not medically qualified and are not in a position to assess the capacity of participants with pre-existing medical conditions to ride the ziplines. It is your responsibility to undertake such an assessment prior to taking the tour. Guests who experience dizziness, seizures or suffer from high blood pressure and/or heart conditions are strongly advised to seek approval from a medical professional prior to making a ZipTour reservation.
Because of the harness and pack setup, we strongly recommend that women who are, or may be pregnant do not take part in the ZipTour. Should you choose to take part in the ZipTour, we require written proof in the form of a doctor’s note permitting you to take part in the ZipTour. If you decide to proceed, you do so with the full knowledge that the ZipTour may incur risks to an unborn child.
