Have you been listening to tall tales of mountain adventures from your skiing and snowboarding friends?  Are you the one that doesn't ski or snowboard?  It's ok, you're not alone and Mount Washington is here to help.

Just in case you haven't heard, the Rossignol National Ski and Snowboard Week is on right now!  That means huge savings for skiers and snowboarders taking the mountain's Discover Skiing and Snowboarding and Discover Cross Country programs.  The discounts run from January 17 to 21 and the offers are enticing.

“Anybody taking our Discover programs get 50% off this midweek,” says Snow School Director Mike Manara.  “You can get your lesson, rental, and lift ticket for under $40 so there's never been a better time to try skiing or snowboarding.”

Alpine lessons leave at 10am and 1pm all week and the deal is being extended to Night Discover Skiing and Boarding this Thursday and Friday evenings.  You should allow yourself one hour prior to the lesson to get your rental gear and to check-in.  Discover lessons last for two hours and feature small class sizes with a maximum of six riders per instructor.

At the Mount Washington Nordic Centre, Discover Cross-Country programs are the perfect way to introduce yourself to the best air on Vancouver Island!  For only $22 you get a 1.5 hour lesson, rental gear, and a nordic trail pass.  In no time, you will be heading out into the beautiful trail system that meanders through Strathcona Provincial Park and its stands of old-growth mountain hemlock.  This is the perfect way to spend a winter day!

If you still want to learn to ride and you can't make it up to Mount Washington this week, have no fear.  Discover programs run daily until the end of the season and the mountain has introduced a new program that is taking the learn-to-ski-and-board world by storm!

The new Learn to Turn program gives you a Discover lesson and two group lessons with lift tickets and rentals for only $299 when booked as a single package.  As a bonus for completing the Learn to Turn program, you will receive a lift ticket for April 2011.

“Enrolling in our three-step Learn to Turn program saves you $200 from purchasing the lesson packages individually.  We guarantee you will be turning by the end of the program and loving your life as a new skier or snowboarder,” adds Manara.
