Herb Bradley Challenge

We Need Your Help, Sunday, March 4, 2018!

Vancouver Island Society for Adaptive Snowsports provides opportunities for people with disabilities to learn to ski and board in a safe, supportive and fun environment. Our job is to put smiles on faces. Our students are people with all manner of challenges arising from injury, illness and other impairments. To enable them to build on their abilities we use a lot of very specialized instruction techniques and equipment. This involves providing a very high level
of training for our volunteers and maintaining an extensive inventory of adaptive equipment.

We are a registered charitable organization run exclusively by volunteers so all of our donated revenue goes entirely into our equipment and operational expenses. Mount Washington generously provides us with a room for our operational base and considerable support for our students and volunteers. With this and the support of our wonderful donors we are able to offer a program that is reputed to be the best in Canada.

Herb Bradley Challenge Fundraising

Our major fundraising event for the year is the amazing Herb Bradley Challenge. The very popular and entirely too much fun annual event will be held on Sunday March 4, 2018. To join in the fun just round up three people who are willing to attach themselves to a sliding device (skis, snowboard or ???) on which they will attempt to navigate a (gentle) slalom course. No experience (and no batteries) required.

You will pay an entry fee/donation of just $300.00 for the three of you for which you will receive lift tickets and lunch. The cost of the HBC is $300 which includes a donation, VISAS will issue a receipt for $150 for tax purposes. You will have one of our smiling students allocated to your team and then you’ll have one of the best days you can experience on the mountain. The winner of the event is the team that has the closest total elapsed time to the time they predict. It is all fun and there are no losers.

Please visit our website at to get the whole story about our program. Application forms and more details about the “Herb Bradley” are available by going to Events on the website.

We hope you will find this cause worthy of your donation and join us in supporting our enthusiastic students.
