JOB DESCRIPTION

DEPARTMENT:         Snow Removal

STATUS:                    Part time, seasonal

REPORTS TO:          Snow Removal Supervisor

WORKING HOURS:  Seasonal operating hours

PURPOSE:                To provide, safe and clear parking surface conditions for our guests in a positive, safe and cost effective manner.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • 2 to 4 seasons experience operating heavy equipment.
  • Self-motivated, responsible and open minded.
  • Able to work alone and with others.
  • Should be in good physical and mental health.
  • Able to work shift work and odd hours with some overtime when required.
  • Submit valid driver’s license.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand and work towards departments and company’s goals & objectives providing suggestions for improvement where applicable.
  • Be familiar with the emergency measures manual, snow removal plans and employee handbook.
  • Observe carefully and adhere to all company safety, operating and maintenance procedures.
  • Maintain a high standard of workmanship in communication, respect for machinery, co-workers and quality of product.
  • Perform pre-start up inspections per the established equipment checklist.
  • Perform visual walk around checks, including checking for all fluid leaks, mechanical problems, implement attachment points, cracks in frame, etc.
  • Allow proper warm up time for equipment and power components as recommended.
  • Perform shut down and post operational procedures including all required documentation regarding machine maintenance, workload completed and damage to equipment or property.
  • Be prepared to assist and cooperate with all departments upon request.
  • Attend Mt.Washingtons’ winter orientation session.
  • Adhere to company operating procedures.
  • To be dependable, timely and cooperative.
  • To follow instruction paying close attention to detail.
  • To identify, contain and report if necessary, fuel and oil leaks immediately.
  • Some maintenance including daily greasing, re fuelling and cleanliness of equipment.
