JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION: Cashier - Lead Hand

REPORTS TO: Internal Sales Manager

LOCATION: Alpine Rossignol Experience Centre (REC), Bradley Building

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:

To provide exceptional customer service by matching customer requirements for alpine rentals, lesson packages and other services to the inventory available. Assist with coordination of all ski and snowboard lessons and programs as well as to delegate nightly staff assignments, assist in training and liaise between the Rossignol Experience Centre (REC) Sales and Snow School departments in absence of Managers. You will strive to meet the service expectations of all guests through consistent team effort and courteous customer service all while ensuring a fun, positive, secure working environment. You will adhere to all policies and procedures outlined within the Supervisor Manual and enforce all rules, regulations and policies of Mount Washington Alpine Resort and be responsible for the daily operation of the Snow School Desk and/or Mountain Kids sales areas in conjunction with the REC Sales Managers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

General:

Assist in setting up all workstations and sales terminals for the day.

Report all Snow School-related concerns to the Assistant Sales Manager and/or Internal Sales Manager.

Keep up-to-date on all new and existing products and services offered throughout the Resort.

Assist frontline staff with any questions and concerns.

Attend departmental meetings as required.

Communicate and liaise with Managers for customer service, Snow School or Rentals related questions.

Support the Assistant Sales Manager in staff break rotations.

Delegate and perform general janitorial duties as needed.

Help to maintain appropriate staffing levels on a constant basis.

Assist in other department operations when required.

Issue change and review individual staff cash outs.

Operate POS system when needed.

Be available to frontline staff at all times for voids, printer issues, general problem solving, etc.

Night Shift:

Check in with the Assistant Sales Manager or Internal Sales Manager and day-shift Head Cashiers, to review night business and administrative tasks i.e. evening promotions and/or large groups.

Check-in staff for their scheduled night shift.

Prepare Mountain Kids buttons and any other outstanding tasks required for the following day’s operation.

Deliver Snow School assignment sheets and assists with evening lesson bookings.

 

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

  • Considerable Guest Service experience on a front desk or equivalent in a similar field.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to make decisions that balance value to our guests and profitability to the resort.
  • Scheduling flexibility and the ability to work more than 8 hours a day is required.
  • Exceptionally knowledgeable of all resort-related information including: hours of operation, events, promotions, and Snow School programs.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Comox Valley and surrounding area as well as a passion for people and the outdoors.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • The ability to remain calm under stressful and high volume situations.
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to learn quickly and to ‘think on your feet’.
  • Mature, friendly, and well-presented.
  • Previous knowledge of the sales program “Siriusware” is a definite asset.
  • Previous experience providing leadership and coaching to employees.
  • The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with our guests.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling cash.
