Advenure Smart Avalanche Awareness Days presented by Helly Hansen

From January 18, 2020 9:30am until January 19, 2020 3:00pm

Mount Washington Professional Ski Patrol is once again partnering with Avalanche Canada and Adventure Smart to bring Avalanche Awareness Days to Mount Washington. The weekend will feature two days of fun and interaction for all abilities to learn about snow safety in a mountain environment.

Avalanche Awareness days includes avalanche beacon demonstration with competitions to find your prize with your beacon!

Come by the Adventure Smart hub beside the ticket kiosk between 9:30 and 3:00pm to for a guided session of our Beacon Basin and use our equipment to find some amazing prizes provided by Helly Hansen.

The Canadian Avalanche Rescue Dog Association will also be on-site to conduct avalanche rescue dog demonstrations. Kids are able to meet some of the heroes of avalanche rescue!

Rory, the only Avalanche Rescue Dog on Vancouver Island and a member of the Comox Valley Ground Search and Rescue, will be visiting the Beacon Basin on Saturday January 18 between 12 and 2pm to demonstrate his incredible talents with his handler Janet.

Drop by the AdventureSmart booth located beside the ticket kiosk on January 18 or 19 to elevate your avalanche education and snow safety.
