Three-course gourmet dinner featuring guest chef Daniele Mereu Join us on February 14 for a mouth-watering mile-high Valentine's Day dinner. Following a complimentary glass of bubbly, you'll be treated to three delicious courses prepared by world-renowned guest chef Daniele Mereu.
CHEF BIO Daniele Mereu grew up at his family's farm and vineyard in the province of Asti in the Piedmont Region of northern Italy, where his parents grew Barbera and Moscato grapes. This is where Daniele's passion for food and wine was born and where he received his initial introduction to the hard work involved in the production of excellent ingredients and products. Further up he took his passion for wine into professional kitchens and pursued two complementary careers. He had consulted many restaurants regarding the projection of their kitchens, their food preparation, their food safety (HACCP) and the effects of nutritional content of food. Daniele has more than twenty years' experience cooking around the world, including cruise ships, some of the best restaurants in Europe and one of the best wineries of Sicily. In 2007 he graduated with full marks from the University of Gastronomic Sciences, Italy. This university, the first of its kind, was founded in 2004 by the Slow Food movement in collaboration with the regions of Piedmont and Emilia Romagna. He now lives back in Victoria BC with his lovely family, still growing vegetables, making wine and cider and conducting cheese classes and wine-tasting around Vancouver Island. Daniele works for Sysco Victoria as a culinary specialist and product developer, as well as a Sysco Brand Manager.
Dinner will be served in Fresh in the Alpine Lodge. Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start. Ticket's are $59.95, which includes a three-course dinner and glass of bubbly. Wine and cocktails will be available for an additional cost. Bookings required through our call centre.
