The VIMC provides accommodation to organized mountain sports, school, youth, adult, senior, and special interest groups that are visiting Mount Washington for a specific purpose (training, meeting, incentive, things of that nature). The VIMC is a non-profit organization.
VIMC has dorm-style accommodation for up to 40 people (Based on 4 person/room occupancy and one accessible double room). While one dorm room is designed as an accessible room all of the dorm rooms are wheel chair accessible.
Each room consists of 2 sets of bunk beds (except the accessible room which has 4 single beds) and wall hooks and clothing storage space.
Centre Accommodation Policies
The VIMC is not a hostel and cannot provide accommodation to individuals not associated with organized sporting, educational, or special interest groups. All guests must check in and register at reception. A deposit of 25% is required to book accommodation and the total balance is due at check in. Check in time is 3pm and checkout is 11am.
Kitchen use is included with overnight bookings. It is the responsibility of the user group to make sure the dishes they used are clean and placed back in their appropriate spot and all counters, cupboards and floors are clean upon their departure.
The Vancouver Island Mountain Society is a non-profit organization that needs everyone's support to be successful. With your first program or accommodation booking (excluding Fitness Centre drop-ins) an additional $4 for individuals or $10 for groups will be added to your total price. This yearly fee gives you and/or your group a membership in VIMSS, which supports local mountain sports athletes both through grants and subsidized access to the V.I. Mountain Centre.
