If you're looking for activities beyond alpine, all snowbound tastes are catered for. Mount Washington provides guests with one of the top-rated Nordic experiences in North America. The resort’s post and beam Raven Lodge, perched on the edge of Strathcona Provincial Park, is the epicenter of Vancouver Island’s cross-country community. Over 55 km or 34 miles of world-class machine groomed cross-country trails exist around the resort and through scenic parklands.

Mount Washington Alpine Resort is an official training site for Cross Country Canada. With the 2010 Olympics fast approaching, the resort has also established itself as an ideal pre-Olympic training site for a multitude of international teams.

The Swedish XC and Biathlon teams and the German Biathlon team are among the world's best who will be preparing for the Games at the Raven Lodge this season.

In addition to cross-country skiing, top off your Island Nordic experience with a day of snowshoeing in Mount Washington’s snow-frosted forests.
